Cut & Color with Nico Fink & Leica
Martina Trepczyk and Nico Fink (Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Certified Trainer) join forces at the Leica Academy to demystify editing and colour grading for anyone eager to begin but unsure where to start. “Demystify” is also the name of Nico Fink’s colour tutorial and resource library – have a look!
The workshop takes place over two days. On Friday, 23 October, Martina Trepczyk and Fabian Sorger (Leica Academy) will guide participants through setting up Leica cameras for filmmaking. In a nearby workshop space, you will learn how to film craftsmanship using only available light.
On Saturday, 24 October, Martina Trepczyk and Nico Fink focus on editing and colour grading. You will learn step by step how to efficiently set up DaVinci Resolve (available for free), edit your footage, and apply colour grading.
This workshop is designed for beginners, as well as those who are familiar with DaVinci Resolve but want to better understand colour space basics and strengthen their fundamentals.

Who is it for?
Beginners, photographers who mainly shoot stills and want to move into video, and anyone who has been using DaVinci Resolve intuitively but would like to strengthen their fundamentals.
What to bring?
Just yourself, if you’d like to try Leica equipment.
Alternatively, bring your own camera (any brand is welcome) and, if possible, an L-Mount adapter to test Leica SL lenses on your camera body.
What to expect?
A hands-on, step-by-step introduction to filming, guided by Martina Trepczyk, along with detailed insights into Leica equipment from Fabian Sorger.

What to bring?
Your laptop with DaVinci Resolve installed.
What to expect?
A hands-on workshop where you will set up DaVinci Resolve, edit and colour grade your own material, with step-by-step guidance and one-on-one time with the mentors. Expect a deep dive into workflows, tools, and techniques.
