“Her art is born from activism. Her aesthetics are a weapon to fight for our planet. Her raw female perspective captures the seductively beautiful shapes of the wilderness underwater and within.

Her works show the far more complex nature of sharks than popular culture leds to believe. She sets them free from this suffocating cliche. She fights for the equilibrium of nature in the language of images.”

About the Exhibition

This Fine Art Photography is an ode to the sea and to courage. Blending what may look like two different ends of the spectrum–ethical underwater wild life photography and conceptualised sensual art–into one diverse collection combining art and activism.

Statement by the Artist

“When we look at the global climate crisis–we have to understand that it is in its core a humanitarian crisis, a spiritual crisis–a deep lack of empathy, connection and admiration for what is right in front of us. The belief that some lives are worth more than others, combined with greed and exploitation is what brought us here.

This collection is like an anchor I turn to. It inspires and reminds me of how much impact my choices have. A remembrance and reverence of the origin.”

“Besides having a great eye for photography and a great mind for storytelling, Martina has way too much passion, energy and perseverance… all necessary qualities to ignite change.”
